VCA introduces tMonitor temperature monitoring Application
The tMonitor temperature monitoring Application works together with the VCA-650LD thermal imaging camera to generate alerts when temperatures drop below or exceed specified levels within pre-defined regions. It can, for example, be configured to detect potential faults in cold stores and freezers, as well as detect the danger of fire due to plant or machinery overheating. It can also be used to improve energy efficiency by monitoring temperature variations in real-time in any building environment.
VCA’s Intelligent People Tracker designed to enhance the customer shopping experience
Combining 3D imaging technology with sophisticated footfall analysis software, the new VCA IPT-1000MR Intelligent People Tracker provides an easy to install, low cost solution for retailers who want to improve the customer experience by minimising queuing times at checkouts.
The VCA IPT-1000MR offers a highly accurate method of measuring customer-waiting times at the point of sale or ATMs, and can generate real-time alerts to store management when queuing time or queue lengths exceed pre-defined thresholds. Whilst monitoring stationary queues, it can even identify customers who ‘give-up’ and walk away.
Available at a price point not previously seen, VCA claims that for perimeter detection applications, its new Intelligent Thermal IP bullet cameras with on-board analytics offer a compelling cost comparative to the usual method of combining standard surveillance cameras with passive detectors.
“We believe we have set a new benchmark for thermal imaging cameras,” said Kevin Waterhouse, Executive Vice President, Global Sales for VCA. “In addition to being highly affordable, our new VCA-6500TC and VCA-650LD Intelligent Thermal IP bullet cameras are equipped with the VCA video analytics engine and are packed with added-value features which deliver real-life practical benefits.

Utilising VCA’s video analytics engine, which has been successfully deployed worldwide in over 350,000 video channels, Bridge is able to detect movement within very small areas of a video image. As such, it can provide central station operators with a powerful ‘exception’ reporting tool to help them identify suspicious activity and when appropriate, to despatch security guards or quickly report the incident to one of the emergency services.

There has been no shortage over recent years of specialist software development companies offering retailers ‘business intelligence’ solutions that can help them gain a greater understanding of customer behaviour.
